The value of Fibre 500 and Fibre Max
Fibre 100 is enough for many homes, but Fibre 500 measured about 508 Mbps download in the Commerce Commission’s April 2026 tests and Fibre Max about 877 Mbps, so even in the evening peak there is bandwidth to spare for video calls and high-definition streaming. Rural homes without fibre should look at Starlink, which now serves more rural connections than any other technology.
